History

Founded in 1949 by Ralph D. Gaines, Jr., Gaines and Gaines, P.C. has achieved longevity and success by providing quality legal services with personal attention for clients throughout east central Alabama. Charles P. Gaines joined the firm in 1981, Shaw Gaines in 1996, and Susan Haynes in 2008. Offering a broad scope of legal services to its clients, the primary focus areas of the firm's practice are civil litigation in all state and federal courts of the region and real estate.

In addition to legal services, members of the firm and their families have provided substantial leadership to the community by being actively involved in civic, educational and religious organizations.
